Never have I been in such a need for a new cup of life. A faster car and a leaner stomach I rend, but until then, pass that red bottle of Zen. It has been almost a year now since I started this tar-full habit and caressing this cup of Ridge Three Valleys Zinfandel has me reflecting on all I've learned. If you're a beginning wine drinker here's a piece of advice: get out and drink as many different wines as you can. No wine seminar or class can help you judge wines as well as your own taste buds. In regards to this Zin, it's not Sonoma County's most balanced creation; maybe because it stems from three different vineyards. The Zinfandel has a moderate 13.8 percent alcohol content, and the acidity of the wine overpowers the light, even-keeled berry flavors. The bouquet, or aroma, of the Ridge is full, crisp, with hints of spices and cool berries. A complement to drinking a glass of Ridge would be a spicy seafood dish or a hearty, medium-rare New York steak. Followed by a dark, rich Romeo & Julieta , but I shouldn't be talking about smoking. After all, It's my first day of quitting and I already feel the jitters. Next will be the shakes, maybe one more glass will help to smother my smoking intake. Overall, Ridge's Zin is one of the finer Zin blends and is a fine addition to any drink menu. Here's a link to get a bottle of your own, delivered to your door.
